What’s An Adage?
According to the dictionary, an adage is a saying that sets forth a general truth, and that has gained credit through long use.
One popular example of an adage is Murphy’s Law, one of the variations of which is “If anything can possibly go wrong, it will.”
Another is “Don’t put the cart before the horse.” Meaning to do things in the correct sequence.
If It’s Too Good To Be True…
The adage “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is,” has been with us for a long time and most of us use it frequently to quickly discard things that seem just too good to be true. By using this adage, we save ourselves time and energy and frequently money.
While researching this adage for this post, I came across a great little blog post from a few years ago, that I thought explained its use very well.
“I’m sure you’ve all heard the old adage, ‘If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.’ And I’m sure you, like me, can recount many instances of when you fell for some scheme or ploy that turned out just that way. At the same time, I’m sure you can count many blessings that have come into your life that, if you stopped to think about them long enough, you would have thought were ‘too good to be true.’ Maybe it’s a relationship, a job, a salary, or just something that years ago, you would never have dreamed would have happened to you. Yet, it did happen to you.” – excerpted from debramoorhead.com
Maybe I’m Wrong, But…
I think some of you haven’t acted on the Sundance Global opportunity, because it seems too good to be true. It certainly seemed that way to me, but one of my favorite mentors had said “take a look at this.” So, I trust him, what else could I do? I took a look.
What I saw was free sign-up, free website, and some free food samples. What you’re risking is $5.95, that’s the cost of shipping on your food samples. The risk/benefit ratio was ridiculous, $5.95? We’ll give you some food and you tell us if you like it. And, oh, by the way, if you like it, you can generate some extra part-time income.
Do Yourself A Favor
Run, don’t walk to Sundance Global and watch the 4 minute video. Sign up, order your free food ($15- 20 value), try the food and leave a comment below to let me know what you like most about the food.
I remember thinking when I ordered my food, “how good can it be if it’s supposed to last 15 years?” Luckily, I was wrong. When I tried it, it was wonderful. I shared it with two friends and they both thought it was great.
Why would you want food that lasts 15 years? Well, here’s one possible scenario that I wrote a couple of weeks ago about an earthquake causing food shortages.
Here are some other possibilities:
• Unemployment
• Unforeseen Hardships
• Poor Economic Times
• Natural Disasters
• Lack of Independence
• Debt
To safeguard yourself in troubled times, many churches and experts recommend that you have food stockpiled for times of emergency and catastrophes. Put your safety net in place, go to Sundance Global, and get started today!
