Persistence | March 31, 2011

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”    – Calvin Coolidge

“Achievement seems to be connected with action. Successful men and women keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.”  – Conrad Hilton

“It is impossible to stop a man or woman who won’t quit.”  – unknown

How To Succeed

1)    Know what you want

2)    Know why you want it

3)    Figure out a plan on how to get it

4)    Start following your plan

5)    Do the plan

6)    Review the plan to make sure you’re on track

7)    Continue following the plan or revise as needed to get back on track

8)    Don’t stop until you achieve # 1

9)    Start over again at # 1 (you got what you wanted, figure out what’s next)

Having Mentors

When you need to learn something, find a mentor. A mentor is defined as an experienced adviser and supporter, someone who knows what you need to learn or knows where to find it.

When can a mentor help you? See the nine points above, but, remember that the same person might not be the right mentor for all nine points. I have many mentors, what I need to learn determines which one I go to.

Too many times, promoters of network marketing try to push off on us that this is an easy business. It is simple, not easy, it’s hard work. If your mentor or your upline are honest, they will tell you so. It takes persistence, courage, willingness to learn and apply what you learn, not taking rejection personally, figuring out how and where to find people to talk to about your business or about your product.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you ask someone for help and they can’t or won’t, keep asking, the right mentor is out there.

Persist until you learn how to do the business, persist till you find the right mentor(s), persist till you achieve your dreams.

One More Quote

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Marianne Williamson
